A childhood of raising livestock helped me realize that I wanted to pursue a career in agriculture. I’m so grateful to see my vision of California Livestock Services come to life. Providing nutrition consulting services is one of my favorite parts. I enjoy finding a balance between the animal’s needs and cost-effective options. What else am I up to? Exploring the outdoors with my beautiful wife Amy, son Colt, and our dog June.

Favorite Part of the Valley?

I love waking up every morning to see the sunrise from the beautiful mountains to our east. To me, this long flat valley has always seemed like the flyover states of the Midwest – fertile land filled with hardworking people. These down-to-earth people with strong morals and a backbone fuel my pride in this land we call home. Growing up in Exeter, I was first introduced to agriculture through cattle where I would help doctor the herd and fix fences. I then focused more on sheep and leadership opportunities once I was in FFA. Out of school, I worked on the crop side for a decade before returning to my roots in the livestock side. Throughout all of these years, I have seen the hardworking people in this industry, and it’s people like them that make me proud to call this place home.

Favorite Part of Your Job?

Well, there are really two things that can be summed up with one word – people. The first is when I get to see my clients on delivery days. It is always great to catch up and find a solution for a nutrition problem their animal has. The second is when I have the chance to work with 4-H and FFA kids on their projects. Whether that’s helping them with their nutrition plan or working on showmanship, it makes me so happy to see their dedication and results. The future is bright for them!
